Faith in Action Sunday..

So once a year, we skip our usual rousing morning service and head out into the community to help other. This year Wayne and Ashley helped out. I stayed home with the rest of the kiddos. Here is what the youth and many others from our church did.

I am in awe at how the Lord uses people. People of all shapes, sizes, backrounds, professionals, stay at home moms, retired seniors, heck retired aerospace engineers, and most of all our teens. We are truly blessed by the youth at our church. They are just awesome in their ability and willingness to serve our Lord and Savior.

Saturday Happenings

It's a beautiful 70 * day here. There is a light wind that helps keep the humidity down. It's one of the gifts of living near the shore. It a great day for hanging stuff on the line.
We are reorganizing and painting the house a bit. We have house guests that will be staying long term with us. They are a sweet little family that we hope we will be able to witness to. We pray that they will come to know the Lord through there time here with us.
We took an early morning stroll together this morning, and hit a yard sale in the neighborhood. Mama was good and came home with nothing. Kids came home with video games, barbie and a hess truck. Good little finds for them.
Proverbs 31:20 says " She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy." Below is a pic of our needy friends who came in our backyard while we were sitting on the back deck just chatting away.

We tossed them some cornbread and watched them feast. We called them Romeo and Juliet, cause we always see them together in the neighborhood on others peoples lawns and such. It was a nice surprise to see them in our yard.

Both boys have games tonight. Big Daddy and my oldest dd won't be home tonight, they are doing a missions day tomorrow for Church. So this Mama will be busy for the rest of the night.

First Camping Trip of the season...

This is the view from the back of our campsite. Our friends camped next to us in tents.

Jacob back from getting a shower!

Emma doing a craft at the campsite.

So this was a much needed camping trip for our family. And a great time of reflection for this mama. I pondered many a scripture verses while I was away.
Job 40:22 The lotus-trees cover him with their shade; The willows of the brook compass him about.
I am reminded over and over again that the Lord is my shade tree. If I only remember to go sit under him. Kinda of reminds me of the old addage" you can bring a horse to water but you can't make him drink." In my own subborness I refuse at times to do everything in God's strength, but seem to think *I* am the only one who can get it done and get it done in my time. Forgetting that the Lord has his perfect timing and I should be submissive to his will for my life instead of my own.
After having a wonderful conversation with a friend of mine, I felt an entire weight being lifted off my shoulders, how I love my sisters in Christ who encourage me to keep on keepin on. Bearing with me in all things, and especially in love. (Romans 14)
I am ready to sit under the tree again, I am ready to put off my own selfishness and rely on God's perfect will for me and my family. I am so thankfull for the way he uses my family to help me, and I need to be encouraged by thier usuage instead plagued with guilt by it.
Mama is back! and God is sooo GOOD!!

Baseball

So, yesterday was Jake's first baseball game of the season. He did a great job! The thing about farm league is that is drags on. They will throw the ball until the kid hits it! OYE! That means 4 innings can take TWO HOURS!!! It was bitter cold by the end of the game last night, we started at 6 and ended at 8:30, under the lights. :)

Easter

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to start off with sharing the pictures from Easter Sunday. We had a wonderful performance at our church but on by the youth. And then we headed to Aunt Lisa's house for a dinner of ham, smashed potatoes, smashed sweet potatoes, greenbean cassarole, carrots, lamb, and homemade rolls. All the children did an egg hunt and got quite a bit of loot.
